I really enjoy doing these 1 hour concepts!
Now here’s an oddball. As you may have heard me say in the Game. Talk. Art. podcast, I get inspired by a whole array of things, including cars and airplanes. Usually it’s merely a part of something, or a certain shape. In this case, all I had in my head was the front of a WW2 fighter plane, and I thought what if where the prop is, I’ll put the barrel... and then the air intake beneath it could make for some cool shapes.
I googled and quickly found this side view of a P40 Warhawk. The second I put it in Procreate I knew exactly where to go with it, and quickly went to work. I flipped the tail and made sure the greenhouse was clearly represented. I think the little detailing on it really gives it the final touch. What do you think of it? Should I do these kind of odd-inspired designed more often?
Easter egg: the trigger is a center stick!
