A couple of months ago Leartes Studios asked me if I wanted to help create a cyberpunk style melee weapons set. After some consideration due to my comfort zone telling me I can’t do anything but firearms, I accepted the challenge and went for it.
.
The brief here was to have a glove or gauntlet as a weapon, with a cyberpunk feel to it. I again came up with three different concepts for it. The first one was more of a home made scrappy stun glove, with a Tony Stark-like arc reactor powering the device. The second one has the same idea, but is more sophisticated in terms of manufacturing. For the third one I wanted something different than punching with an extra oomph, so light saber claws it was! The team decided on mixing up number one and two, so that’s how the final concept came together.

Here’s the description of the gloves:
Model X-3 gloves are not only a handy tool for frying circuits and server towers, but work remarkably well against people and androids alike. They only come with one setting, which is maximum hurt. Take them off to recharge after 3 discharges. Or don’t; they’re fairly comfy. The polymer mesh glove part luckily is non-conducting. It has an aluminum body to make it more lightweight. There’s hologram display thing to show battery status. On low bat, user may decide to unscrew and unplug one of the cables to have higher voltage output on the remaining two stun cords.
