승냥이 (seungnyang-I) is a smart combat rifle developed by SKWI Ltd. in 2029 in response to firearms getting more advanced across the world. While their K2 aged well and managed to stay relevant to this day, the Blue House wanted South Korea’s military to be on the forefront of military technology. . The rifle is named after the Korean Jackal, because while smart as a fox, it also has a bite! It’s chambered in the recently developed high performing 6x49mm Korean, making this a force to be reckoned with. Shooting through level 3 body armor, cars and other cover is not an issue. The cartridge is made of a secret alloy which has near-perfect heat sink properties while more than strong enough to deal with the pressure. Instead of gunpowder, 6x49mm K uses an again, secret, liquid chemical propellant which, combined with built-in compensator and sound dampener of the barrel unit, makes for hearing safe shooting without ear protection. . 승냥이 is select fire, fully ambidextrous, has a folding stock, round chambered indicator and a quick release barrel unit. It’s accurate up to 600 meter and weighs a mere 5,5 KG when loaded. . The stock houses the primary battery pack and a secondary unit located in the pistol grip. These power the round counter on the left side of the body, the flashlight / strobe / laser module at the front, the lock and fingerprint scanner in the stock plus anything you want to attach to the powered smart rail system. The rifle can be coupled with your phone and has a companion app which will inform you about the total round count, remind you of cleaning and maintenance, let’s you order spare parts and tools from the armorer, and much much more. . While stored in the gun rack it charges via the lock located on the bottom of the stock. Only the assigned user can unlock and remove it from the rack by using the fingerprint scanner on top. While the stock is folded the connection to the primary battery is broken, hence the secondary battery in the pistol grip. The round counter display will show relevant information regarding your ammunition capacity, battery status, kill count (kidding), jams or misfires, and much more.
